Abstract

Heterostemma beddomei (Hook.f.) Swarupan. & Mangaly (Apocynaceae) is an endemic species, known only from a drawing by R.H. Beddome. It has been rediscovered away from the type locality from the Amrabad Tiger Reserve (Nagarkurnool district) of Telangana after a lapse of more than 150 years. A detailed description with colour photographs are provided  with an updated key to the species belonging to the sect. Oianthus in India.
